Privacy Policy

The Short Version

DailyCompressor does not upload, receive, store, or have access to any file you process using its tools. Every conversion, edit, and compression runs entirely inside your own browser, using your device's own processing power. This policy explains exactly what that means technically, and states plainly what limited data, if any, is collected outside of file processing.

What Never Happens

No file you select in any tool on this site, image, PDF, or Word document, is ever transmitted to any server this site controls. There is no upload step in the technical sense: your browser reads the file directly from your device's own storage and processes it using JavaScript and WebAssembly running locally, then offers the result back to you as a download, also handled entirely on your device. This is true for every tool without exception, including the AI-powered tools (AI Background Remover, AI Image Upscaler, AI Watermark Remover, and Image to Text OCR) and GIF to MP4.

The One Exception: Model and Encoder Downloads

A small number of tools, AI Background Remover, AI Image Upscaler, AI Watermark Remover, Image to Text (OCR), and GIF to MP4, download a model or encoder file (a few megabytes, up to roughly 64MB for the image upscaler) from this site's own servers the first time you use that specific tool. This download is the tool's own code and trained model; it contains no information about you or any file you process, and it is a download to your device, not an upload from it. The file is cached in your browser afterward so it does not need to download again on future visits.

Data We May Collect Outside of File Processing

• Analytics — this site does not use any analytics or tracking service. No page-visit or usage data is collected, and none could include information about the files you process, their content, or their names, since file processing never reaches any server in the first place.
• Advertising — this site does not display advertising. If that changes, this section will be updated first, and any advertising added would still have no access to files being processed, since those files never leave your browser's local memory.
• Cookies and local storage — this site does not set cookies. It does use two browser storage mechanisms, both entirely local to your device: Local Storage, to remember your light/dark theme preference between visits, and Cache Storage, where the AI-powered tools cache their downloaded model file so it isn't re-downloaded on your next visit. Neither is shared with us, used to identify you, or used for tracking or advertising, and you can clear both at any time through your browser's settings.

Server Logs

Like most websites, visiting this site may generate standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, timestamp) as a normal part of web hosting, used only for basic operational purposes such as diagnosing errors or detecting abuse. These logs never contain file content, since files are never sent to the server. This section will be updated with a specific retention period once hosting for this domain is finalized.

Children's Privacy

DailyCompressor does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, and the tools are not designed to collect or transmit personal information as part of normal use.

Your Rights

Because files are never transmitted to or stored by this site, there is no file-related data to request, correct, or delete; whatever you process here exists only on your own device. This section will be expanded with the applicable access, correction, and deletion rights, and the relevant jurisdiction (for example GDPR for EU visitors or CCPA for California residents), once that determination is finalized.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated if the tools or their underlying behavior change — for example, if a new tool introduces different processing, or if analytics or a third-party service is ever added. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date above.
